I just came back from Singapore with 2 of my students competing in Singapore in a Malaysia-Singapore-Australia sanshou friendlies and my coach has offered us to come back and he will arrange another friendlies for us.

I am now extending it to all the kungfu schools who are keen to partake in a amateur sanshou match oversea. There are no price money and I am not getting a single cent out of this. I am doing this to promote sanshou in Australia and get better relations among the kungfu schools here and overseas. If you are keen, please PM me.

This offer is open to all other martial arts group if you are keen, but my focus is on other kungfu and wushu schools due to BS politics. If you don't mind the politics and willing to give it a shot, PM me either way.

Here is a links to the fights in Singapore.

It is full contact, but the fight is reset on 3 reasons:
1. One of the opponent is down.
2. One opponent steps out of the ring.
3. The clinch passes the 3 second mark, after which they are separated.

Sanshou game is not like Muaythai. Throws count for more points in Sanshou, as such our punches and kicks have to be quicker and not as powerful as what you would find in other kickboxing style. Saying that, you still can knock a guy out and win.

Here are the full fights from our side:

There is one coming up for under 18 in Melbourne this August, see link:
http://www.akwf.com/2010_AKWF_VIC_Championships.pdf

and another fight coming up for adults:
http://www.akwf.com/2010_AKWF_VIC_Championships.pdf

The rules have just change for the juniors this time round and I am not too happy about it.

For juniors:
1. It is 1 1/2 min a round.
2. No head kicks.
3. No continuous punches to the head.

I cam agree with 1 and 3, but I reckon 2 will be hard to regulate.

The main reason why there is a change in the rules, is because this is the latest ruling set by IWUF and this Melbourne comp will be Australia selection to partake at the year end Junior Wushu World Cup in Singapore this December.

Arrghh! I got to change the gameplay for my student now and start staring at the whiteboard.
