Hi,

I don't really care so much about getting super-fit, losing weight etc, but I was wondering what those in the know would say about eating after training.

I've just started training at a new place (in Switzerland). I'm getting pretty exhausted - the warmups are pretty intense and last night's went for almost 90 minutes! Argh...

Anyway, straight afterwards I felt really hungry and there's a nice falafel place right where I wait for the tram to go home.

Is it better for your body - in general - to eat straight away, or wait an hour or so and eat around 10pm when I get home? Or does it not matter at all?

Thanks!

Tantrum

need about 2 hours after you eat before going to bed

also depends what you eat

a heavy meal not a good idea sit in your stomach and energy not used stored as fat

small light meals the best easily digested

ligt meal fruit stir fry good salad steam vegies great meal for late night

rice and pasta, meat ok but you need to put 1/3 on youu plate to make potion small

in my book any times a good time to eat. Bu tlike animal said you wouldn't want to eat a heavy meal then go to bed. i think the general rule is you shouldn't eat after 8.00pm becasue by the time its digested you body doens't need the energy so again like animal said its sotred as fat.

Gday Hey Tantrum, hows it going. Hope the family are well.

I remember reading and being told by someone ( cant recall who at the moment ) that if you've had a very active workout of any kind that basically whatever you eat within the next hour is burn rather quickly because you're metabolism is still racing high and it was less likely that it woudl turn to fat. Naturally as has already been said, its probably more about the "what you eat" rather than "when you eat". But I also recall the muay thai/kickboxing coach at the club saying that you shouldnt' eat carbs after 2.00pm. I think it was to do with by the time the body has processed it its too late to use the energy so it can go to fat.

I'd also heard you shouldn't eat or have coffee after 8.00pm.

Except for the "Fried" part falafel's sound healthy
